IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Marty McFly
Canon: Back to the Future
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: About a month after the trilogy
History: Ding!
Personality: The first thing you need to know about Marty is that he acts like your typical “80’s cool guy”. He’s plays lead guitar in a band, skateboards, and is late for school. He generally has a chill outlook on life and his biggest goals are to become a rock star. He is not especially rebellious however, sure he’s definitely not a “conform to avoid any sort of harm”, but unless he needed to, he probably wouldn’t commit crimes out of rebellion.
Marty is seriously loyal to his friends. Not just “I won’t leave you”, but he shows throughout the trilogy that his loyalty extends to “I don’t care if my future and life is at stake, I will make sure that you’re okay”. This is especially evident in the third movie of the trilogy, when he goes against Doc’s instructions of going back to 1985 and goes to 1885 just to save Doc’s life. Even though he would have been long dead in Marty’s home year.
He also has a really short temper. In the second in third movies he is shown that he gets enraged just by being called “chicken” or “yellow”, but at this canon point he is learning to control it, only getting annoyed at being called “chicken”. Although it still wouldn’t take much to set Marty off, just not as freakishly easy to either. It would probably take some good insults to someone he cares about to, or if someone insults him really badly.
Marty tends to be a very rash thinker, usually thinking of a plan as he’s going through with something and not focusing on what could go wrong. It has gotten him both into trouble and helped others out through this trait; he nearly died and prevented someone from dying, for example.
However his time travel adventures have not had a completely positive effect on the teen. Despite greatly improving his home life, he has been very negatively affected by the series of events. Even ignoring the fact that nearly all of his memories are of a life that never happened effectively making his whole life a lie, he has witnessed his best friend die multiple times and accidentally caused a dystopia where his father dies. He would have to be superhuman to not be affected by that. He’s not going to openly angst about it, but there is a good chance that he might break down once or twice.
Strengths: Marty isn’t a super human. After all he is just a typical teenager from a (mostly) realistic world. He is not wimpy though. He can throw a very good punch despite his height, and is a very good runner and skateboarder, and judging by how he’s able to car surf (grabbing onto the trunk of a car while on a skateboard), he probably has a great of grip.
Despite being a rash thinker, he is very good at problem solving in a short amount of time. He was able to prevent himself from getting run over by Biff and his gang by climbing over their car. He also has a literally thick head. He got hit by a car in the first film for example and only got knocked out for a few hours. While it couldn’t have been going faster than 20 MPH, it was pretty clear that he bumped his head pretty hard in the movie.
On a more minor note he is a very good music player. He’s an expert guitar player and a pretty darn good singer too.
Weaknesses: As stated above, he’s been learning on not having such a short fuse after nearly dying because of it, but it wouldn’t be that much to set him off. Most likely an insult to one of his friends or even a really persistent insulting to him would make him do something very rash.
Not to mention he is also pretty clutzy and, I’ll be honest, kind of dumb. A lot of the time when Doc is explaining scientific stuff it all goes over his head even.
Possessions: A skateboard, his orange, poofy vest (but tiny dragon sized), his Walkman, a cassette of Huey Lewis, and a photo of him and Doc standing in front of the clock tower in 1885
Pony/Animal Type: He would be a baby dragon. Marty has a short fuse so being a young dragon would suit him (plus being a baby dragon suits that he’s 5’4 as a human)
Cutie Mark: N/A
Pony Picture: N/A

First Person: [Marty appears on the screen. He’s smiling while tuning an electric guitar]
Hey guys, I actually got something that I wanted this time. Nothing stupid like a toy car or underwear. [Plays a few chords]Man I missed being able to play one of these…
Anyway, the reason why I called this is that I’m thinking of staring a band again. I used to have one back at home but obviously I haven’t been able to do anything with them lately. So since I have a guitar again I decided why not? It’s not like I have to worry about school or anything now. All you have to do is hit me up with a demo of what you have.
And don’t just contact me without actually knowing how to play music. I’m not asking for godlike abilities, just no one off the street, okay?
Third Person: : Marty woke up with a start. He groaned to himself when he realized that he was just sleeping. The same damn dream. At first they gave him a near panic attack but now the dream just pissed him off. Just watching his best friend die and vanish again and again. It was like his subconscious wanted to think that he would be gone forever.
Marty knew that Doc wouldn’t be gone forever, sure he couldn’t contact him but he knew that Doc wouldn’t just leave him, even if he does have a family now. They were, no, are best friends. And a 100 year difference wasn’t going to change any of that.
A small part of still wished that Doc was here so that he could talk about this, but he doesn’t think could bear to see Doc’s reaction to him being badly affected by time travel. It would be worse than these dumb nightmares.
Marty rolled over and looked at his alarm. 4:36 AM. Way too early to get up, but he didn’t feel tired enough to fall back asleep. He slipped on his headphones and started listening to Van Halen
He hoped Doc wasn’t having these nightmares too.
